There was this young guy from Indonesia, Arkana Pradipta, who had a big dream about technology and the future. Back in the early '90s, he got a scholarship to study computer science at Stanford University in California. It was his first time living far from home, but he was determined to succeed. At Stanford, he met a Japanese student named Aoi Takamura. She was studying electrical engineering. Aoi was cool, smart, and totally disciplined. They met during a group project. At first, they had different opinions, but they gradually started to understand each other. Respect turned into friendship, and friendship turned into love.
After they graduated, they worked in the United States for a little while. In '98, they chose Japan for their wedding. The wedding was a traditional Japanese ceremony. Their marriage united two cultures, Indonesia and Japan. After the wedding, they decided to live in Japan to be closer to Aoi's family.
In the year 2000, their first child was born. He was a baby boy, and they named him Zekken Leonhart, but they called him Ken. Ken was cheerful, brave, and curious about the world. He liked exploring and asked questions. Two years later, in 2002, their daughter was born. They named her Thalassea Leanhart. Thala had sharp eyes and a quiet personality like her mother. She was calm, thoughtful, and liked to observe the people around her.
Ken and Thala grew up in Japan. They learned Japanese as their first language. They enjoyed cherry blossom season, summer festivals, and life in a peaceful neighborhood. Their parents instilled in them both Japanese and Indonesian values at home.
When Ken was six and Thala was four, their parents made a big decision. Arkana wanted his kids to know his homeland. After talking it over, they decided to move to Indonesia. It wasn't easy, but we got it done. Ken was pretty excited at first because he likes new experiences. He tried to make new friends quickly. Thala, on the other hand, felt shy and needed more time to adjust to her new school and language. They both adjusted to their new life at their own pace.
